It’s been a while since my last post

It’s been quite a bit since my last post but I wanted to give a painting update: I’ve not done a darn thing since I’ve stripped the paint off the test models.

However, we have a local 1250 Cities of Death tournament that we’re having on February 21, 2009 that I intend to have the force painted. Although it will only get about 1/4th of my infantry models painted, it’ll get almost all of my vehicles painted.

Here’s the list of models I intend on taking:

  • 1 Command Platoon with a Jr. Officer (1 las cannon 3 grenade launchers)
  • 1 Infantry Platoon (1 Jr officer squad las cannon 3 grenade launchers, 2 infantry squads with 1 lascannon and 1 grenade launcher each)
  • 1 Armored fist squad (with vet sgt & flamer)
  • 2 Hellhounds
  • 1 Leman Russ Demolisher
  • 1 Basilisk (with a converted armored crew compartment)
  • 3 Sentinels with Heavy Flamers

It’s very troop choice limited, however I’m counting on the 4 scoring units (of the two troop choices) to help me there. I know that as a Guard player (and Tau), I’m at a disadvantage in close-quarter fighting in Cities of Death in comparison to other armies such as Orks & Tyranids, so I don’t feel too terrible about such a low troop choice count right now, although that may change once I start playtesting.

So that’s 4 larger vehicles, 3 smaller vehicles (sentinels) and 45 infantry models to paint in a month…. lots of work–especially since I’ve not figured out what I want to do to make my vehicles more unique to my army.
