Raider Conversion WIP #3b

October 22, 2009 | Reading time: 1 minutes

I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to, but I did build up 3 new Raider chassis for my Ravagers–which includes the magnetized bases and all.

Having some major issues keeping the side panels on with Super Glue, I’ll have to go purchase some JB Weld as I’ve heard it’s fan-freakin’-tastic when it comes to metal to metal bonding.

My current raiding party:

I realize that some of the masts are not quite the same from Raider to Raider. This doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would as each raider is relatively unique as there is no real, standard way of building each one. I’ll probably end up bending one or two down a bit more, but I’m not going to let it bother me if I don’t get it perfect.

I imagine making the Ravagers having a different type of sail, but I’m not sure what style…just to make them a bit more different from the Raiders. If I don’t figure out what I want to do, the Raider style sails will work just fine.

I do still have 3 brand new Raiders still in shrink wrapped boxes. If I max out my Raider choices, I’ll need to purchase two new ones for my HQs.

Note that all but the 3 Ravagers and the 3 Raiders that I have are hand me downs. It’s great to have a good friends and a good gaming community.

Just a close up of one of my warriors (remember that each one has a magnet on his foot so that he can be set upon a base or the Raider itself):

I still have 10 more warriors to build, then on to my HQ or Wyches (which I have 20 of the Dark Eldar Wyches through hand-me-down) but I might purchase some WFB Witches just to spice things up.
