Dark Eldar – first (learning) game.

Here’s the list that I built to play against Dale’s Tau

Ravager (3 Disintegrators, Flicker Field, Night Shields) – 125 points

Total: 1888 points — a bit too much, sorry Dale

It was an impromptu and guesstimated addition to my 1500 point list and so I was 38 points over, but that’s what I get for estimating the difference quickly while distracted.

Here is the partial video battle report (as it was originally for my note taking, not for public display). All apologies as most of my models weren’t on bases yet and my flying bases were in my Biel-Tan Eldar’s case (I use the same polar magnets for my flying bases for all my vehicles).

I’ll start doing better quality videos if the response is good (and I can!).

In the end I got sloppy because I got what I wanted out of the game (to test the list and learn some of the in’s and outs, education is much more important than the “W” at this stage of the army’s development) Dale won by taking two objectives and contesting 1 while I had 1. It was actually a great game and a huge learning experience (despite the off-point-costs).

The flicker fields didn’t save as many shots as I was hoping (nor as statistically) this game, but I’m sure it’ll come around. The night shields worked awesomely (as it did in the last edition codex too!).

Farseer Tim and I were in agreement that there are a whole bunch of ‘point traps’ in this codex, and the simple lists (like this one) will (should) be the overall winners.
