On Saturday August 21, 2021 my wife and I took my Victoria 18 on a quick “kiddie-pool” maiden voyage around the harbor at the local Sailing Club.
There were some rigging mistakes which I’ve already been educated upon. My known mistakes are: the boom being too high and not level to the cockpit, and the jib sheets being free instead of through the gunwale pulleys (which I knew better, but forgot).
Below is the relatively short video for our 20 minute test in light to negligible wind. Surprisingly she moved quite a bit faster than I’d expected in the relatively still airflow.
This weekend (August 28, 2021) I’ll be recording and posting a longer video using multiple cameras.
