Immunotherapy Delayed a Week

June 23, 2024 | Reading time: 1 minutes

Unfortunately due to the holiday and the timing of both the pharmacy and melanoma departments, my immunotherapy treatment was pushed back a week. The only issue with this was having to reschedule our hotels.

My PET scans last week aren’t looking pretty, but as the Rez sang: “Things aren’t as pretty from the inside.” I’ve got major growth and new tumors on both my liver and my lungs, and I’m starting to get a little worried. At this point this needs to happen now with no more delays.

I was worried about the procedure and all the discomfort it’ll produce, but I’ve washed all that trepidation away with necessity and logic. This can’t happen fast enough.

Last week was my PET scan, Under stress ECG, and Low Dose Radiation Simulation. The staff had added target marks to six points on my torso, and since it was going to be nearly three weeks until the actual procedure, they added a tattoo dot in the middle of each just to be sure.
