Seven Wave Serpents (Part 1)

April 4, 2010 | Reading time: 1 minutes

With the assembly of my “final” two wave serpents, time to start the thread of my Wave Serpents. I only needed one more for this tier (2000 points), but I had another box and decided to go ahead and assemble and paint that one too.

I’ve really enjoyed the build up of our local event/challenge. I’ve been looking for something for me to repaint my aging Eldar (although I liked them at the time, they show their age).

This thread is merely an introduction as it’s next in the pipe after my Fire Dragons are completed….I just didn’t want to proxy out a Wave Serpent with an old falcon chassis (soon to be a wreck) as I did on our Friday Night Gaming.

Up until today I only needed four or five Serpents, but since we moved from 1750 to 2000 I noticed that I needed another scoring unit, so I now have 36 Dire Avengers in four transports (and a small squad of rangers for a back-field objective claimer). The painting of five of them was already done for a previous tournament (1500 points 2 months ago) with my Airbrush in less than a night. It’s very basic, but more effective on the table than I first thought.

I’ll be assembling the rest of my Falcon Chassis (4 Falcons) tonight and assembling two more wrecks from my re-found crappy Fire Prism so that I may have 4 wrecks when I lose the models (although the wrecks need to be based better than on a simple CD).
