Tau – Second Generation Gue’vesa

December 16, 2011 | Reading time: 1 minutes

These Gue’vesa (humans who have joined the Greater Good) were born into the Tau Empire and are fully integrated into their society. Their dedication is fully Tau as well as their technology.

My first planned conversion is to make the battle suits look a little more made and designed by human hands. This requires changing the feet out from hooves and adding possibly larger hands.

For this experiment I chose the Eldar Wraithlord feet as my replacement because both that I had extras on hand and the bits are very cheap online.

The only problem is that the feet make the suit very dwarfish compared to the bird hooves of the original model. I’ll be extending the bottom legs out with 1/8″ to 1/4″ plastic tubing to give it a better sense of proportion.

That’s it for this post. I’ll have to drop by the local Hobby Lobby to get some extruded plastic for the legs.

As for the hands the Wraithlord hands are cartoonishly big on the chassis so I need to keep looking.

Edit/Addendum: the more I look at it, the more the reverse knee joint is bothering me too. I may have to cut all the lower legs off at the joint and turn them around. The advantage to this is increased posability.
